Rotana Media Forges Landmark Strategic Alliances at Saudi Film Confex to Redefine the Kingdom’s Media Industry
Rotana Media, a leading creative group enriching the cultural and media landscape, announced a series of strategic alliances supporting creative transformation during its participation at the Saudi Film Confex 2025. These collaborations reaffirm Rotana Media’s commitment to developing the regional creative ecosystem by empowering talent, preserving cultural heritage, expanding intellectual property on a global scale, and embracing technological innovation, all in alignment with the ambitions of Saudi Vision 2030.
“At Rotana, we believe media is not only a reflection of society, but a force that shapes it”, said by Her Royal Highness Princess Lamia bint Majed Al Saud, Chief Executive Officer of Rotana Media. “Today’s partnerships are a testament to our commitment to this belief. We are building bridges between cultures, connecting generations, and writing the next chapter for Arab storytelling by investing in our talent, preserving our heritage, and embracing the Saudi and global innovation”.
The new alliances include a collaboration between Rotana Studios and the London Film School to develop cinematic education and nurture Saudi talent through specialized global programs, ranging from on-set training to postgraduate studies. Additionally, a partnership between Rotana Studios and Entertainment Technologists aims to advance entertainment technologies and foster innovation in creative content production.
Rotana Media also launched a cultural initiative with VOX Cinemas to restore and showcase six timeless classics from Rotana’s extensive film library, presenting them to new generations in their original form, while signing new agreements with leading Chinese partners, including the Changchun Film Studio Group, Multiverse Media, and Arto PYRA 7, to expand co-production opportunities, strengthen international distribution, and employ smart technologies that revive cultural content and connect intellectual property ecosystems between the Middle East and China.
As a surprise to local audiences, HRH Princess Lamia announced the production of Shabab Albomb 3, reinforcing Rotana Media’s major works that resonate with local audiences. These initiatives build on Rotana Media’s legacy as the guardian of the largest Arabic film library, with a catalog exceeding 2,300 films, and its role as a cornerstone of the Kingdom’s creative renaissance.
Throughout the event, Rotana channels provided wide coverage of the event through special programming and on-ground reporting, further reflecting the Group’s integral role in supporting the Kingdom’s cultural and creative movement.
“As Saudi Arabia advances toward the bold aspirations of Saudi Vision 2030, Rotana Media stands proudly aligned with this transformation. The story of Rotana Media is one of vision and heritage, and we are profoundly inspired by the path ahead. The best chapters are yet to be written”, concluded HRH Princess Lamia.
